Sydney WorldPride 2023 Rainbow Champion

Emerald City Kickball continues to work with the best in our community! On 19 October 2022, David Parsons, one of our own founders, was specifically recognised for his work in creating safe spaces in community sports by WorldPride as one of 45 Rainbow Champions

His enthusiasm, positivity, and drive impacted so many in our community across the various league's he's helped shape from ECKickball to Sydney Convicts to Sydney Stingers

On the third anniversary of winning the bid to host the largest LGBTQIA+ celebration in the Southern Hemisphere, Sydney WorldPride is shining a spotlight on 45 Rainbow Champions representing the 45 years since the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which took place on 24 June 1978.

All 45 Champions have been chosen for their contribution to Australian LGBTQIA+ community and culture. Couldn't be more proud that we get Dave every week to share his glow with our kickballers!
